1953 - 2007
by Bob Goffredo

The annual meeting is held each year to bring the NEIRC member, company's and associates to date about the NEIRC past year operations and to introduce the past officers.

This was the time to vote for your choice of officers and directors for the coming year if there are any openings for a position with the BOD. The NEIRC always urges members to get involved with your association.

The meeting was called to order by President Robin Deschene at The Westford Regency Hotel in Westford, MA on Thursday January 11, 2007 with over 40 members attending.

The NEIRC officers presented a report of their duties and results within the NEIRC for the past year.

Bob Bills, presented the Treasurer's report stating that the NEIRC is solvent and expects the association solvent well into the future years.

Mike Aviva, Vice President for the 2007 year gave the member status report of 103 active members and associates for the year 2006. Mike is also the Membership Chairman and expects we will surpass that mark as more professionals learn about the NEIRC and what if has to offer.

Senior Vice President, David Mavilio and also our Publications/Public Relations Committee officer reported more activity of regional meeting, schools and events. David has been working on a line up well into the year and has requested that other members volunteer to work on committees.

The NEIRC directory and newsletter are on schedule with distribution shortly and the newsletter is on a quarterly basis. If anyone has nay suggestions for an event, please let david know your thoughts.

The new Treasurer and Connections Representative Paul Thompson, presented details about Connections in Florida and Las Vegas. Paul has spent the past years with Connections as a past president and chair person working on the  many benefits that Connections has to offer our members as well as our industry. Members receive discounts when attending the Connections and the NEIRC benefits as a member of Connections, it's a win, win for everyone.

Barry Lichtenstein, the IICRC representative reported interesting facts about the IICRC and informed us of the new standards being released soon. Barry stated the new standards take many months of research and effort from each member of the committee providing accuracy as well as important working information.

Bob Goffredo, the NEIRC web master reported as of January 1st the web site www.neirc.org was updated providing ease of use as well as a more understandable description of what your company provides as a service. The newsletters and reminders are sent out twice per month with updates of schools, course, workshops, regional meetings, general information and reminders. Each member has their responsibility to keep their companies web site information updated by emailing Bob at bobgoff@msn.com. Ideas that may provide more services or information to the web site is encouraged and welcomed.

The Nominating committee Barry Lichtenstein and Clerk of the NEIRC reported due to the lesser amount of volunteers to fill the positions of Regional Directors we have reverted to the original slate of NEIRC positions. A President, Senior Vice President, Vice President, Treasurer, Associate Representative and Clerk. The positions have extra duties attached to the each position and with all positions being filled except for the Associate Director a ballot vote was done and Phil Mejia was elected to fill the position of Associate Director.

President Robin Deschene presented appreciation awards to Robert Bills a member of the NEIRC BOD for over 12 years and to Robert Goffredo who has served on several NEIRC BOD.

President Robin Deschene Spoke on the many advantages we all have as members and colleagues of the NEIRC and what accomplishments we have made during the last year. Robin handed out five sealed letters to various members with instructions not to open them until she called out the number. As Robin spoke she would call out a number and that person had to talk about the subject such as, "I will attend regional meetings" and the person had to agree to attend the regional meetings. The sealed letters were opened and each member offered the information and spoke briefly on the subject of the letter.

The meeting adjourned with all members enjoying the camaraderie of the NEIRC and it's membership.

Support your Association, get involved, volunteer to help on a Regional Meeting, it's your association and it's for you the professional cleaner.
