What are the Professional Organizations for Carpet Cleaners?

Joining an association that brings together different professionals working in the same field is a great way for colleagues to build friendships, networks, learn new skills and methods, adapt to new technologies and developments in their field, learn how to expand their business, and to otherwise build a supportive community of like-minded people. Carpet cleaning associations and organizations are no different.

Perhaps the most well-known in the cleaning industry is the IICRC or the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification. The IICRC now has a global presence, operating in some 25 countries worldwide. When it started, however, the IICRC was based mainly in Fresno, California. Today, the IICRC is a global non-profit organization offering certifications and standard developments in the cleaning industry. Getting your education, training, and certification from the ICCRC can spark favorable responses from potential customers or clients worldwide.

Other professional cleaning associations are usually formed at the local or regional levels, where the local carpet cleaners and other professional cleaners are brought together into a supportive community. This is, in fact, quite feasible because regulations affecting the cleaning industry are also formulated at the state level. It is the professionals working within the same state or region who can, therefore, provide the best supportive environment for each other, conducting best industry practices to meet legal standards that would work well for the area in which they offer their services.
